Volkswagen Lease Return near Nashua, NH

From the mailed measuring tool to turn-in, here is how the official Volkswagen process works.

Contact AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua

AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua serves Nashua-area drivers from Merrimack, New Hampshire. As a Volkswagen lease nears its contract end date, Volkswagen Financial Services outlines a turn-in process and four transition options. Nearby communities such as Hudson, Bedford, Amherst, Milford, Manchester, Hollis, Litchfield, and the rest of Hillsborough County can use this page as a local starting point. Your lease agreement still controls charges, mileage, and the final invoice.

What Happens as a Volkswagen Lease Approaches Its End?

The official process is staged. First you assess condition, then you schedule a complimentary inspection, then you handle any desired repairs, make the final payment, schedule turn-in with a Volkswagen dealer, and wait for the invoice.

1

A few months before the contract end date, a small measuring instrument is mailed so you can gauge dings, interior damage, and tire wear

2

Schedule the complimentary vehicle inspection. A representative can come to you

3

Complete desired repairs, make the final monthly payment, and email repair documents if work happens after inspection

4

Contact AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua to schedule turn-in and keep a copy of the Vehicle Turn-In Form

The mailed measuring tool helps you look at condition. It is not the official inspection. The complimentary inspection is a separate step, and the report stays valid for 90 days if no additional damage occurs after that date.

How Does the Complimentary Volkswagen Inspection Work?

The official turn-in page describes the inspection as free. A representative can come to you so you can consider repairs before turn-in. Schedule the complimentary inspection through the official Volkswagen inspection scheduler. AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua does not host that scheduler and does not set inspection results or final charges.

1

Clean the vehicle inside and out and remove personal items

2

Confirm keys, manuals, the maintenance booklet, headrests, cargo covers if applicable, and delivery equipment are present

3

Read the inspection report and decide whether any listed items should be repaired

4

If repairs happen after inspection, email the repair order, VIN or account number, and proof of payment to repairreceipt@vwcredit.com before turn-in

What Counts as Normal Wear Versus Excess Wear?

Normal exterior wear may include scratches, dents, or gouges smaller than 2 inches on a bumper or panel; three or fewer quarter-sized dings per panel without broken paint; and one windshield chip without spidering. Excess wear may include damage larger than 2 inches, improperly completed body repairs, missing badges or trim, more than three dings per panel, multiple chips or dents on a panel, pits measuring more than 1/8 inch, and improperly tinted windows.

Normal interior wear may include minor staining or carpet wear with original equipment present. Excess interior wear may include holes, tears, burns or singes, excessive staining, and convertible-top damage. Mechanical excess wear may include service lights such as check-engine, airbag, or anti-lock brake lights, plus uncompleted warranty repairs or scheduled maintenance.

What Are the Tire Rules, Including 4MOTION?

Normal condition includes all four tires and the spare having more than 1/8 inch of tread at the shallowest point, original-equipment size and speed rating, and minor wheel scuffs. Vehicles without 4MOTION may use multiple tire types when they match original size, rating, and quality. Vehicles with 4MOTION must have matching brand, size, and rating on all tires. Less than 1/8 inch of tread, mismatched tires, bulges, cupping, cuts, uneven wear, retreads, snow tires, plugged sidewalls, and unrepairable wheels are listed as excess wear.

What Are the Four Volkswagen Lease Transition Options?

Volkswagen Financial Services lists four ways to move forward. AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua can discuss the retailer side. We cannot promise approval, a waiver, or an extension.

1

Turn in for a new Volkswagen

Published materials state the turn-in fee on the current vehicle will be waived when you get into a new Volkswagen with Volkswagen Financial Services. A security deposit on the new vehicle may also be waived. A loyalty bonus or pre-approval may be available. Credit approval and dealer financing terms still apply. None of those items is guaranteed. Browse new Volkswagen vehicles.

2

Request a lease extension

Send a secure message through the Volkswagen Financial Services Help Center to see if you qualify. AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua cannot approve an extension.

3

Purchase the current vehicle

Contact a Volkswagen dealer or Volkswagen Financial Services for payoff instructions. Our Finance Center can help with the retailer side.

4

Turn in the current vehicle

After inspection and any desired repairs, contact AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua to discuss a turn-in appointment. Confirm details first. A return should go to a Volkswagen dealer.

What Should Be Present at Inspection and Turn-In?

  • All keys
  • Owner’s manuals and the maintenance booklet
  • Headrests
  • Cargo covers, when applicable
  • Equipment installed at delivery

Clean the vehicle inside and outside and remove personal items before the inspection.

What About the Final Payment and the Invoice?

Make the final monthly payment. If payments were deferred, the final payment may include those amounts. AutoPay withdrawals of the final payment will include deferred amounts as well. If you lease or purchase a new Volkswagen through Volkswagen Financial Services, remaining payments including deferred amounts may be eligible to roll into the new agreement, subject to credit approval. Financing terms are set between you and the dealer. Approval is not guaranteed.

After turn-in, the final invoice may appear in My Account or by mail in about four to six weeks. Additional documents are in the My Account Document Center. If you did not lease another vehicle, the official page states that the invoice includes a required turn-in fee that goes toward cleaning and reconditioning the vehicle. Mileage over the allowance in the agreement, plus any added purchased miles, can incur an excess mileage charge. Refer to the contract for the per-mile rate. This page does not list a dollar amount.

How AutoFair Volkswagen of Nashua Can Help

We can discuss general turn-in steps, help arrange an appointment, point you to the official inspection scheduler, and help you explore another Volkswagen. Service questions before return can go to our Volkswagen Service Center. Account questions stay with Volkswagen Financial Services. We cannot waive charges, forgive mileage, change inspection results, guarantee an extension, or determine the final invoice.

If you are considering an early turn-in, review your agreement and contact Volkswagen Financial Services for account-specific information.
